Nature parks close out another successful season
The award-winning Irving Nature Park and Irving Eco-Centre: La Dune de Bouctouche, celebrated another successful season with 600,000 visitors combined. The parks, which are in their 31st and 26th years, respectively, have welcomed over 10 million visitors since they first opened. Both locations boast guided tours, scenic boardwalks, opportunities to hike, bike and swim, and the chance to learn about the surrounding environment. The parks offer summer youth programs, astronomy classes, moonlit snowshoeing and more.
The Irving Nature Park is a 600-acre site in Saint John, New Brunswick with vast environmental significance. Its eight distinct ecosystems are home to many flora and fauna, some of which are rare or uncommon, such as marram grass and the great blue heron.
La Dune de Bouctouche, located in Bouctouche, New Brunswick is home to one of the few remaining great sand dunes on the northeastern coastline of North America. It is a breeding and feeding ground for many migratory birds and has a rich local history for early settlers.
